Electrical EngineeringAdmission
Criteria for Freshmen: Students
accepted into the University as freshmen with the request to be in the
electrical engineering program will be further evaluated by the department.
Based upon an overall evaluation of high school records and test scores,
with particular emphasis on advanced courses in math and science and test
scores, freshmen may be admitted to one of two tracks:
Admission to the Electrical Engineering program requires completion of all freshman year engineering program requirements with grades of C or better. Students from the FENG track must also have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 for all courses taken. Students from the PENG track must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 for all courses taken. Admission
Criteria for Transfer Students: All transfer students must take the ENGR 199 and ENGR 200 sequence, regardless of current major. Each student will be evaluated by the Program Director and placed into one of the two tracks described above, FENG or PENG. All transfer
students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 for all courses taken.
