The Engineering and Technology Josh Grooms Memorial Scholarship

Josh started a golf tournament at WCU to raise money for students that needed and qualified for financial assistance. The second reason was to encourage Industrial Distribution (ID) Alumni to return for fun and fellowship with present Engineering and Technology students. The family, friends, and alumni of WCU would like to continue what Josh started. A Permanent Endowment Scholarship in his name was established in 2001. The Josh Grooms Memorial - WCU Engineering and Technology Alumni Golf Tournament is one of the ways to raise the money for the Permanent Endowment Scholarship. We encourage all ID Alumni, Engineering and Technology Students, Industrial Distribution, Engineering and Technology Companies, Friends, Family and Supporters to play with us on the last Saturday of April. If you cannot play golf, your gift or contribution to WCU will be greatly appreciated and will help WCU with financial assistance. Over past years, the tournament raised over $30,000.00 for scholarships. Following the tournament, students that will receive money from the Endowment will be announced at this years banquet.

Ways to help:

1. Play golf in the tournament - April 2007
2. Contributor - Your name will be placed on a sign at a Tee box.
   Three Levels: Gold - $300.00, Silver - $200.00, Bronze - $100.00.
3. Donate prizes to be given away at the banquet for the longest drive, closest to the Pin, etc. Five or six contests for prizes will be held, any additional prizes will be raffled off.
4. Donate money to the Development Foundation of Western Carolina University c/o Joshua Thomas Grooms Memorial Scholarship Fund. Cullowhee, NC 28723.
5. Be a Tournament Contributor - Banner at the golf course entrance, the club house and at the banquet dinner announcing that you, your company, Tournament Contributor - $1,000.00.
