Visiting Assistant Professor, Construction Management

Andrew Sapienza is a visiting assistant professor in the Construction Management Department in the Kimmel School of Construction Management and Technology at Western Carolina University.  Since January of 2007, he has taught construction management courses at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina.  Professor Sapienza’s research interests are in Building Information Modeling (BIM), 3-D CAD modeling and Electronic Document Management systems (EDM). Professor Sapienza has a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Computer Information Systems from University of Saint Leo (1999), a Masters in Construction Management from Western Carolina University (2007).

Professor Sapienza worked for ten years in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Senior Electrician where he managed several electrician shops in the Southeast United States. Professor Sapienza also worked as a database programmer for a large optical company after completing his undergraduate degree. Professor Sapienza then went on to become the waterfront facilities coordinator for Eckerd College where he managed numerous construction projects ranging from marine construction to facilities maintenance.
