Scholarship, Book, and Problem-solving Lab ActivitiesFabrication and Welding ProjectJason Lambert completed an Independent Study that involved the construction
of front and rear bumpers, spare tire carrier, and rock sliders for his Jeep CJ-7.
The purpose of the study was to gain knowledge and experience in the use of Oxy
Acetylene and Plasma Cutters plus learn to Arc and MIG weld. Materials used for
the project involved steel tubing of various sizes, steel plate, steel angle,
and expanded metal that were all procured locally. Plans for each component were
derived through research of existing commercially available products coupled with
